It includes 1 board game, 1 Shoot 'em up video game, and 1 Flight Simulator. It was a baffling time in the history of Dungeons and Dragons. DragonStrike was D&D's weirdest sub franchise - and now - it...

Переглядів 82 тис.2 місяці тому
Afterlife is the modern VR incarnation of Wraith the Oblivion - a tabletop franchise born of the 90's that was part of the 'World of Darkness.' It was the ghostly answer to Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Wraith was a beloved system, and many people still remember it fondly as their favorite part of the World of Darkness. Which makes it extremely weird that almost no one e...

D&D's Forgotten 1995 Horror Game | Ravenloft: Stone Prophet Review
I'd have loved a proper snarfquest videogame. Like a Conker's Bad Fur day but for DND? Possibly amazing.
Needs a crossover with Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara
2:22 Okay, you have to admit. That is kinda funny.
Man takes me back i played this on Xbox with friends sonnets hours trying to acquire every epic item like the cursed sword and turned it into blessed sword it was fun
I think the RPG horror story stuff is a little bit overblown I think so much of it's sensationalized by youtube and other social media, I think it's the same reason most people don't bother to post positive reviews, It's the same reason why in the early 2010s so many nostalgia critic/cinema sins clones were popping up on youtube, it's easy to dunk on something that's bad, it's harder to explain why something was good, many D&D campaigns are deeply personal or too detailed to adequately explain in a single reddit post or youtube video, I mean look at Dingo Doodle's Fool's Gold video series very engaging and good but also thick with information and harder to put in a consise way, if I had a gun to my head I would say my campaign's story so far is ''A bunch of Isekai'd characters from different fantasy worlds have to find a way to live in a new world where lots of different fantasy peoples and creatures live and now they're fighting a evil rat king'' that sentence doesn't even encompass 98.42 of everything that has happened, it's easy to tell the story of a fucked up and evil DM who did extremely fucked up shit because the core of the issue has less to do with the nitty gritty of the game the highlights are in the bad parts very easy to explain in a single post, and that's why I think D&D horror storries are so common it's more of a vocal minority.
I mentioned this game to a friend. He thought I-was making things ups
Dig the art deep dive 🫡
Snarf sounds like if Jar Jar Binks got his own SW comic or TV series. What the heck IS he anyway? An anteater?
What happened to the spaceman? Oh he just left. 😅
how long does it take to get to the point artwork this artwork that not what I'm talking about sexualization blah blah blah
So i want to say, i did rather enjoy the video and i know you apologized for it, but i did feel like you should have done at least a brief '' playthrough'' of the general thing , maybe mention if any parts of it you rather like (even if minor) since while i UNDERSTAND , i feel like the video loses some value by not going through it. This is a PERSONAL thing since like said, encompassing everything even if its bad will be generally speaking helpfull...plus who doesnt like easy jokes, snarking and a target that writes the jokes itself lol.
I can't believe you have to censor David😅
18:16 Left I see it, right I don't. Though even there, there's an entire debate about "Being desires *_as_* a power fantasy in-and-of-itself" (In this case for women but also how that may overlap or differ between the sexes) Or the attraction *To* power, like that old family guy joke about Cleveland finding Thatcher hot, or Kissenger's line about the greatest aphrodisiac.
18:23 The left one I can see it Left one not so much. Though even the left brings in the entire psycology debate on "Being desired *AS* a power fantasy" And how that differs or overlaps between the sexes.
17:23 80s Workout video lady thighs.
I dunno 3.5 had tits out on the nymph and Harpy aside from the succubus and erinyes in general though the harpy isn't horny unless you're into grandmas.
"Comic-book funny" yeah like I never read Snarf, but it reminds me so much of other 80s kids comics that had back issues of when I was little.
This was a very educational video
I didn't know you covered this series, right until the Snarf Quest video. If you liked it, I can only suggest you try some of the other series Kieron Gillen has written "Once and Future," "Phonogram," and especially "Wicked and Divine."
Oh man, I really feared where you were going with this for a long time, until you turned it around at the end. I do disagree however a bit about the males not being sexualized. Yes, they are heroic, but so are the women, and I think how sexy something is often depends on the eye of the beholder 🙂and believe you me, that a lot, A LOT of women find those fantasy hunks as hot as us guys find the ladies. And as you said, this artwork has been around for basically thousands of years, look at Roman statues of gods and goddesses, look at all the nudes in art history. People will always love to look at beautiful depictions of the gender they are interested in. A lot of the hate on it is just being prudish and applying double-standards.
Loved D&D WoTES on Sega but the ending sucked out loud...
You don't have to grind so much if you explored and found all the secret caves and such. Did you ever run into the wights near the castle in the hidden dungeon? :P Just head North-East of the castle and you will run into a cave with some scary monsters LOL! There's lots of hidden stuff, if you explore. Just walk around the map frottin' on the walls like a homeless guy in the subway...
If we're comparing the horny era to the new era where it seems ugliness is worshipped, I know which one I'd pick.
25:35 had me wheezing LOLOLOLOLOL! I love this game. I still have it.
I am SO on board with defending the horny
I think we should really find a middle ground. Not that wizards thinks that. if yall think its a dark age now wait till they push the ai crap. why have artists with talent when talentless corporate sub humans can make it themselves
not gonna lie dnd needs more art including more full pages yes that makes them bigger which we want both old and new is fine we need both a combination of sexy and practical or just Beautiful art be it a person creature landscape or object
How do I do an amazon affiliate link from another country? How annoying it all is. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and jump on Patreon.
Interesting hearing your take on the the artwork stuff. Personally I'm fine with a few characters looking sexy as long as it makes sense in-universe and isn't the only art.
Your weird fake headcannon about the figurine being made for outrage bait is really disturbing. It feels wrong to listen to you lie about it and then congratulate people for not falling for it when you literally just made it up? The figurine is real, but ONE SMALL PROBLEM: The figurine was made by Wizkids. (not Wizards of the Coast) And that your narrative about some ephemeral 'marketing' sowing outrage on purpose is entirely made up? That is not a real thing and it never happened. I really do not understand why you'd lie so blatantly about something so dumb besides posturing like you are some kind of smarty pants who figured out some kind of dark secret. Gimmie a break.
Like even your reasoning is so baby-esque. "We know its outrage marketing because uhhhh...." *shuffles paper awkwardly* "Pretty lady also!!!!" Also who is 'We' WHO? We who??
That was great - more please
Part of why old pulp art has "believable bodies" is because there were actual human models standing in front of the artist at the time 😼
He chose to defend the Horney. He was a brave man and I shall miss him.
Sweet advice!
20:53 Completely disgree, this is about as attractive as sitting at a table with players and the DM insist you partake in their magical realm fantasies when you were expecting to play some TTRPG.
Here's a like and a comment!
Snarf: So anyway, I started blasting
... was not expecting a defense of horni art... but damn it im sold!
12:45 i can't believe you made it political
Seeing these images I remember from the original run is so nostalgic. What a great time to have been playing D&D/AD&D.
Honestly, I think the Pulp style was better overall.
Americans are terrified of female nipples.
Also, traditional canvas painters are often trained in life drawing. Just look at the Renaissance paintings they're emulating with their naked dancers, fauns, dryads, etc... Getting bodies to look good with paint is a big deal and it makes sense that the oil and canvas team showed off their superior anatomy skills when painting fit, strong adventurers.
BTW, for anyone planning to play this game: clicking on each character's weapon icons is more convenient than clicking on the monsters with the clunky animation.
lil bro really yapped for 22 minutes before getting to the topic :S
To be fair, we used to ogle the boobs on the Lamia in the Monster Manual 😂
bait or not i'd like a minature of the red box fighter. she's hard af
Growing up my father had a pile of issues of Dragon, I remember reading a lot of SnarfQuest... I also remember my mother getting annoyed that I was walking around reading magazines with covers featuring "That DnD art"
Honestly, Your talks about the history of dnd and its various settings (and other systems too) is my favourite part of your videos, so it’s great to see ones which have a lot of it or are entirely focused on that
Telerie being Snarf's Himmel before Himmel existed.
